Understanding, Reviewing and Drafting of Contract (Re-run No. 91)

Printed agreements & forms are great but in practice, one size does not fit all!

There's much more to completing building, construction, engineering or technical contracts or sale & purchase agreements than filling in the blanks.

In fact, a badly drafted contract can mislead decision makers, annoy colleagues or even puzzle clients. Worse still, an ambiguous contractual clause may cause a dispute that can only be resolved through expensive court or arbitration proceedings. Too often contracts are structured in a way that makes them less accessible to the reader and use language that is not as precise and efficient as it might be, or that is unclear, or even archaic.

A misreading of contract or overlooking some contractual terms can be a costly affair and this is not too uncommon an occurrence especially to overworked executives and multi-tasking engineers. As such this course aims to provide some guidelines to review and watch out some of the hidden dangers and points to watch out before entering into contracts. This course approach from a practical viewpoint to review & draft contract and contract management. It is suitable for engineers & non-engineers alike, technical & non-technical professionals, businessmen, contractors, and executives and in fact anyone handles a contract.
